A useful machine quotation starts with a clear description of the production job. The material, finished product, tooling and feeding requirements help define what needs to be reviewed before a configuration is proposed.
You do not need to have every answer ready. Share the information available and identify the points that still need discussion.
1. Describe the material
Provide the material name and thickness. Explain whether it arrives in sheets or rolls, whether it has a backing or laminated structure, and whether the process needs to cut one layer or several layers at a time.
Photos help explain the material, while samples may be needed when suitability remains uncertain. A material name alone does not confirm the cutting conditions for every thickness, layer arrangement or tool.
2. Show the finished product and die layout
Send a drawing, dimensions or a clear sample photograph. If a cutting die is already available, include its layout and dimensions. Explain any positioning requirement, such as matching a printed pattern or keeping parts aligned to a material feature.
The machine configuration should be reviewed against the actual application rather than selected from a nominal cutting force alone.
3. Explain the production process
Describe how the material is loaded, positioned, cut and removed today. A short video of the current process can make the discussion clearer.
Include the target output and state how it is measured: parts per hour, sheets per shift or another production unit. Also explain the available operators and any upstream or downstream equipment that the machine needs to work with. These are requirements for review, not guaranteed performance figures.
4. Confirm the destination and quotation scope
Provide the destination country and available electrical supply. For a production-line project, a layout and the relevant equipment interfaces can also be useful.
Before comparing quotations, confirm what each proposal includes: the machine configuration, feeding arrangements, tooling, installation support, documentation and acceptance conditions. Optional equipment should be identified separately from the agreed scope.
A quick checklist to send us
- Material name, thickness and sheet or roll format
- Finished dimensions and sample photos or drawings
- Die information and layers per cut, where applicable
- Current process, target output and available operators
- Destination country, electrical supply and project questions
